Xe Máy Độ-Xe Máy Độc: Music

Trading summer for snow.

Sol Seppy

Bondo and heat don't like each other.
 Softens right up.
Emblemは可能だ!
 Opportunity underneath.
This tank just got more exciting.
This is what they looked like stock.
Buy this one on ebay....

Bicycle gets some grease.

 True time.
New spokes too?
Good friends are hard to find.
醜い。

To. Do. Dreamin'.

Long list.
I love this bike.

Modeselektor. Rapanthem.

CB160 woes.
 Lucky to have options?
They all need rebuilt.
The chromed up shroud is the most annoying thing in the world to take off....
Moyou agrees.
 To do.
Dream.
 Clean up the wiring.
New rectifier.
Sitter cover.
 New veins in the controls.
Bar-bender fixer-upper.
I don't think the clutch returns as youthfully as I feel when I ride old beans.
I am going to put in a new or stiffer spring in the clutch mechanism and see if that helps.
I need a classier exhaust, also.

Bandana Tuesday. Etsy Open.

Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'.

Etsy shop is open.
 All black bias tape.
My sweet daughter.
New paint, boards, and peeper stopper.
Why did it take me so long to get this album.
DPR fuel.
Daft punk.

Re-build Set-up.

Preparation.
Maybe santa will stop by tomorrow and help me finish up.

Cam chain went swimming earlier.
Ready for cylinders.
If there is an arrow on the piston, point it toward the exhaust.
If there is IN stamped on it, well then that faces the intake.
 90パーセント準備だな。
Perfect song for an X-mas eve alone.

Toyota 4 Sail

It is time to let DD go.

She's been all over the midwest.
Seen more vintage motorcycle action than most trucks twice her age.
Even extended a hand to a few from the HD side of the tracks.
And has never, ever left me stranded.

I will miss her.

Honda CB160 Piston Ring Installation.

I have enough bandanas for now.
Back to motorcycles.

Piston ring install.

I wasn't sure if I was going to have to adjust the rings so.....
Push the ring in.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZiqnychIcU
 Measure the gap.
(CB160= .15mm~.8mm)
My new rings were pre-gapped at about .18mm.

Rings must be installed with the manufacturers marks facing up.
Order of rings.
The oil ring very obviously belongs on the bottom.
Piston rings marked with an "R" or a "T" are the top ring.
Ones marked with an "R2" or "IT" go in the second position.

Point of caution:
The packing grease from these 40+ year old rings had become tacky which prohibited movement once installed.
They were removed, cleaned, lubed, and re-installed.
What I did on top of what I should have been doing.
It's finals season.

One of those nights.

Sewing and Connecting.

Listen to this.....

Modeskelektor and Royksopp all day long.
Cleaning then re-lacing a CL175 rear hub to a CB160 rim.
Vicious cycle told me to.

Hours on the wire wheel today.
 This rusty dirty pile.......................................................clean enough.

Spokes in holes.
Predator.
 Fancy brassy flare +9.
Work it in.
 Bigcity stopped by to chat.
Action shot Hutch.
Moyou took this opportunity to remove every one of her toys from her toy bin and put them in her crate.
"Acting out"
What I did next to what I should have been doing.
100+ tests still not graded.
 Not perfect.
