That face!
Needs brazed...I'm scared I might blow through the thin tank metal where the leak is..
 Ugh...

Vintage Bike Night Oct.

Steer Inn October 2012.

Love these handlebars....

Yes, this is a Whitey swingarm.

Just Tim and I tonight.
Rally'd a bit.

I need a new side cover with a better shifting mechanism.
Oil spitter.

Waiting on the pony

Ready to ride?
Minus legal and a non leaking side cover.....?

Probably should put the cover on this...

Toolbox and tail light.

Pony problems <-> Backyard butcher

Got up this morning thinking I could have this running in a few hours....

The clutch mechanism in the stator case seemed fishy so I opened it up.....

The clutch mechanism was corroded.
I thought I could clean it out and lube it up.....
but just ended up wasting over an hour to find out part of the case was corroded beyond repair.

The shift rod looked fishy......but it was fine.
I wanted to make sure the clutch basket was good too before I filled it with new oil.
So I opened up the other side........
Clutch plates good.
The friction plates were a little rusty.
I cleaned them up and put them back in.

This is what the clutch mechanism is supposed to look like.
I am glad I have an extra engine....
Willie's XL350 race bike from out in Terre Haute saved me again.

It's a butcher shop out in the back yard today.
I need a break...

Done for tonight.

Left is stock with about 3000 miles I think.....
Right has a big bore kit, was raced, and smokes worse than a Chris's Kawasaki triple.

Moyou couldn't figure out where the engine went.

Right before chopping the knob off for chain clearance.

Night shot.

Riding around in the alley before sunset tomorrow?

XL350 Wiring Diagram (and XL250)

XL250/350 wiring diagram.
These bikes stock would run fine without a battery.
I want to keep the headlight and brake/running lights in a non-battery system.
Almost time to color code....

Here is another general diagram from the same manual.
