Xe Máy Độ-Xe Máy Độc: Jet lathe

Snarley parts.

Beyond H-words.
Turnin' time.

 Excited about life.
 Burnout?
Iceburn?
Snow shovel?
 All weather 2 wheeler.

Fork Fix.

Got some help from Z.
Finally got the chrome fork seal holder covers off...
Here is what is left.

I am not sure which is newer or better or whatever.
2 with brass bushing<>2 with steel?
I had read that it was hard to find the right cb160 fork seals...
I ordered what I could get and of course they were the smaller OD easier to find kind.

No matter,  just modify the metal shell of the old one to fit......
Time to turn.
Not perfect but it should work.
 Be safe out there.

She's alive

Too many ideas floating around in my head to remember to take pictures.

These will work until I get that aluminum...
Turning down the brake arm pivot point.
 Tappin' it.

Rear brake cable stay needed to move.
I made this today, it was the last thing that got welded on before the flux wire decided to stop.
The shifter lever and brake lever were finished today.
This is what the rear brake cable mounts to.
 Horrible pictures today.
10-4:30 in the sun.
The perfect weekend to forget about time.
Get lost in my head for a while.

Oh, yeah.
She started up 4th or 5th kick.
Still a long way to go.

Skate break.

Monday night

Dinner and a movie....
I meant dinner and lathe.....

Secret sauce?
No, not really
Mmm...Seitan......
Doesn't look as good as it was.......
I could eat this every night
 These eyes kill me

Preparing for the sissy bar
4.5mm wide 6mm I.D. spacers to welding it to
Hope I have time to clean up some welds...
..and start taking care of this ugliness tomorrow.

Sad bars....

C2 was long overdue for some new bars.

Holesaw to the tubing.
Lathe to the rod (overdid the length but...you live and learn).
Time to drill out and tap.
Needed to make a tool to hold the tap in place.
 Moyou was not impressed.
Drill it out.
 Tap that bung.
 This is a Hutch shot.
Moyou with the creeep.
 Pre-bent mocked up bars.
Gross.
Kyle came through with the late night bend.
I appreciate it!
 Time to weld.
I am horrible at welding....
Moyou was even less impressed with this.
This is before the welds got cleaned up and filled in.
I also took a few inches off the overall wingspan.
 Early mock up.
Hopefully I will be able to get these powdercoated next week.
All the aluminum switch housings are going to get zapped black soon too.
Next up:
Make new sissy bar mounts and bar.

MLK Jr.

Winter weather is back.
Jan. 20th/21st is supposed to be statistically the coldest day of the year.

Ice cycles.

Posin' pretty

Shining up my booger welds
 Jorr with the mad squint
Made the tank mount bung for Pony

the new normal
melancholy monday
my mind always gets the best of me on the last day of the weekend

the new Nosaj Thing is good....

January is for garage nights

A quick 2 miles with the princess.
Sunset run.
She likes running beside the zip zinger the best....those tunnels wheels go whooooooosh!

Garage night with BCH.
Working on the Pony and a secret project.
SHh!
Hutch photo

Moyou loves Hutch.
He rode a bmx bike over!

Spinning metal, turning plugs

This probably doesn't look like much to most people.
If you run barebones Honda's and think it sad that the tach drive is all naked out there spinning in the wind, then you might like what you see a little more.

I will admit it is ugly though.
First successful part made on the Jet lathe.
